Players of the Month - April: Winston Chin You & Audley Astwood

Session 10 - 28/04/2010: Although having a bad night, Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood did just enough in April's final session, to hold off the fast finishing, in form Michael Coore and thereby share the first ever Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month'. Rex James, who had the best results in March, shared fourth spot with his partner Judy Ziadie. Congratulations to all the top performers!

===========================================================
Session 9 - 26/04/2010: Michael Coore steps forward with a big win and would seem to be the only possible challenger to Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood for this blog's 'Player of the Month' as the final April session approaches.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Session 8 - 24/04/2010: With two sessions of play left in this month, a 'Last Saturday' win for Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood seems to have placed these two players practically out of the reach of all but Judy Ziadie and Rex James for the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month of April'.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Session 7 - 21/04/2010: Rex James and Judy Ziadie are headed for the first time this month as Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood surge to the front. Michael and Carol Coore lead a group of players that have also moved into challenging positions for April's honours.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Session 6 - 19/04/2010: The leading eight players retained their positions at the top of the standings, but the Chin You/ Astwood duo moved within striking distance of leaders James and Ziadie for the month's top honours with four April sessions remaining to be played.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Sessions 4 & 5 - 18/04/2010: Relatively good scores in the Pascal Wong Ken Memorial propel Rex James and Judith Ziadie into the lead for Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month of April'. Meanwhile, Peter Mais partnered by Richard Phillips and the father - son pair of Tony and Iain Roberts vault into the top ten after excellent Pascal Wong Ken results.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Session 3 - 14/04/2010: A win by Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood took them to a tie at the top of the tables with Rex James and Judith Ziadie in the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month'.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Session 2 - 12/04/2010: Rex James and Judith Ziadie put some space between themselves and the rest of the field as they lead Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood in the race for Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month of April'.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Session 1 - 07/04/2010: Carol Coore and Carmen Levy shared first place with Rex James and Judith Ziadie as the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month' is launched.

N.B. - In the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month' ranking, players are awarded points for each game (session) played inclusive of the audited results of 'Last Saturday' games. Each player of the winning pair gets points equal to the number of pairs entered and each following pair gets 1 point less. E.g., if 7 pairs play, pair 1 gets 7 points (each player), pair 2 gets 6, pair 3 gets 5, ..... pair 7 gets 1. Additionally, 3 bonus points are awarded to the winner of each session, 2 to second place and 1 to third. (In the case of a tie the points for the spots are totalled and then divided between the tied players.)

In two session championships, full points will be awarded for each session. There will be no additional points awarded to the overall winners of these 2-session championships.

There will be no points awarded for team matches. There will probably be no award for December (to be decided). The above table of the points earned to date will be updated after each eligible bridge session.
