Players of the Month - May: Winston Chin You & Audley Astwood

Session 7 - Mon., 31/5/2010 - Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood left nothing to chance, winning the month's final session to share the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month' for the second consecutive month. Rex James, who had led for most of the month was pipped on the wire and pushed into third place.

Session 6 - Sat., 29/5/2010 - With just one session left in the month, it will be difficult for anyone to topple all three of the players locked at the top of the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month' rankings. The three, Rex James, Winston Chin You and Audley Astwood are on 37 points, 9 points clear of the rest of the field.

This week's Monday and Wednesday sessions, 24 & 26/5/2010, were cancelled due to an outbreak of violence in the capital city (Coke extradition issue).

Session 5 - Wed., 19/5/2010 - Rex James did just enough to hold on to the top spot as Monica Cools-Lartigue and Marlene Fulford made a major move to motor into second place. A four point spread now covers the top eight players in the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month'.

Session 1 - Mon., 3/5/2010 - Rex James and Judy Ziadie are first out of the blocks in the May race for Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month'.

N.B. - In the Jamaica Bridge Blog's 'Player of the Month' ranking, players are awarded points for each game (session) played inclusive of the audited results of 'Last Saturday' games. The winning pair each gets points equal to the number of pairs entered and each following pair gets 1 point less. E.g., if 7 pairs play, pair 1 gets 7 points, pair 2 gets 6, pair 3 gets 5, ..... pair 7 gets 1. Additionally, 3 bonus points are awarded to the winner of each session, 2 to second place and 1 to third. (In the case of a tie the points for the spots are totalled and then divided between the tied players.)

In two session championships, full points will be awarded for each session. There will be no additional points awarded to the overall winners of these 2-session championships.

There will be no points awarded for team matches. There will probably be no award for December (to be decided). The above table of the points earned to date will be updated after each eligible session.
